The Premier League is back once again this weekend as this absolutely stacked week of action continues. Following on from the last few days, plenty of teams up and down the top flight will be wanting to take it easy. Instead, they have another blockbuster game to prepare for. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Aston Villa and Arsenal.
Aston Villa Form GuideAston Villa are a club transformed under Unai Emery. They really do feel like a complete unit for the first time in a long time, and their reward is the return of European football to Villa Park. Given what they’ve been able to do in the summer transfer window, many are wondering just how far up the table they can go. Right now, it feels like the sky is the limit for the Midlanders.
Over the course of their last six games, Aston Villa have dropped just two points in a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth. Outside of that, they’ve been near-enough unstoppable with five wins against AZ Alkmaar, Fulham, Tottenham, Legia Warsaw and, most impressively, Manchester City.
Arsenal Form GuideArsenal came close to finally reaching the top of the mountain last season, only to fall short at the final hurdle. They simply couldn’t keep up with City in the title race, but this time around, they’ll be hopeful that they can go one step further. Mikel Arteta knows and understands the scale of the task that lies ahead of him, but he has a really strong foundation in place.
Across their last six games, Arsenal have made it crystal clear that they intend to be the frontrunners once again in the title race. They’ve rattled off wins over Sevilla, Burnley, Brentford, Lens, Wolves, and most recently, against Luton in a 4-3 thriller on the road.
Match PredictionAston Villa and Arsenal are arguably the two best teams in the league right now, and with Villa Park being such an incredible fortress, this game has an endless amount of potential. It’s going to be a pretty intriguing duel, with our somewhat boring prediction being a draw.
