Cremonese vs Bologna Prediction (20.05.2023)

Cremonese could be relegated from Serie A this weekend and in a bid to avoid that, they face Bologna in the first of three games from Italy on Saturday.

Cremonese have been trying to survive, but that may all be in vein soon. They've played better recently, but it looks like being too little too late for them. From their last six games, we've seen them win two, draw two and lose two, which is a decent record for a team battling at the bottom, but from now, they really need to pick up some wins, and being at home here, this is a game they'll target to do that.

Last weekend, it was defeat away at Juventus for them, losing 2-0 against the team currently placed in second in the Serie A standings. This game offers a far easier task for them, but of course, with a lot of pressure on, it is up to the team to go out and deliver.

Since falling away from the battle for European football, Bologna have been on a poor run of form and are cruising towards the end of the season with nothing to play for. That has seen them go on a run of six games without a win, with two defeats and four draws in that period, and it is fair to say we've seen this team drop down a gear in those games.

Most recently, last weekend, Bologna were held 0-0 by Roma and the week before that, were held 1-1 by Sassuolo. They're not playing well, but at the same time, are struggling to show the kind of intensity we saw from them earlier in the season when they felt like they had something to play for.

A big game for Cremonese, one they need to win if they want to hold onto staying in Serie A this season. It may be a win for them, but could only be a point, however, I do think they will take something from the game. I'm backing them on the double chance market here, covering a home win and the draw in the game.
