The festive period continues as we approach the final few days of 2023. The Premier League has never been more exciting as all 20 clubs prepare for a big push into the new year. There are plenty of fixtures to work through this week and today, we’re going to take a look at what should be a pretty interesting clash between Liverpool and Newcastle United.

There is a level of anticipation in the air for the Reds as they attempt to make another push for the league title, with Jurgen Klopp leading the charge. Now, it’s all about whether or not they can maintain this consistency, especially with such a congested fixture schedule.
Following a win over Crystal Palace, Liverpool lost 2-1 to Union SG before being held to a 0-0 draw by Manchester United. They went on to beat West Ham 5-1 in the League Cup before drawing 1-1 with Arsenal. Then, on Boxing Day, they beat Burnley 2-0 on the road.
Newcastle Form GuideLife has been a rollercoaster for Newcastle United fans in the last few years and that’s especially true across the first few months of the season. Eddie Howe is definitely the right man for the job based on what he’s been able to produce up to this point, but with the Magpies’ focus now turning towards domestic football, there’s certainly going to be some pressure on their shoulders.
After losing to Tottenham and AC Milan, Newcastle got back on track with a 3-0 win over Fulham. They were then knocked out of the League Cup on penalties by Chelsea, before slipping to pretty disappointing losses courtesy of Luton and Nottingham Forest.
Match PredictionThis is a fixture that has produced some classic moments over the years and for Newcastle, they need to pull a rabbit out of the hat - and fast. We’re not so confident that they’ll be able to do so, though, especially at Anfield, which is why we’re predicting a Liverpool win.
