The Premier League returns for another edition of Monday Night Football as we get closer and closer to the end of the campaign. There is a whole lot to play for at both ends of the table and when it comes to the two teams involved in this game, they both have a lot of work to do. So, today, we’re going to take a look at this evening’s clash between Chelsea and Everton.
Chelsea Form GuideThis season hasn’t been particularly fruitful for Mauricio Pochettino and while it may not seem like it, a lot rests on how they bounce back between now and May. They need to make a real fight of it in their pursuit of European football because if they don’t, they could find themselves going through yet another major change by the time the summer window rolls around.
Despite being unbeaten in their last six, Chelsea have conceded 13 goals in that time. They’ve managed to defeat Leicester, Newcastle and Manchester United, but they’ve also been held to a 2-2 draw by Brentford, Burnley and Sheffield United.
Everton Form GuideEverton manager Sean Dyche isn’t the kind of guy to let his team go quietly into the night. With that in mind, and with their legal situation still ongoing with the Premier League, we’d argue that the club feeling ‘slighted’ could really help them in the months that lie ahead. There’s no guarantee of survival in a division like this one, but for some reason, they just don’t know how to quit.
Everton’s 1-0 win over Burnley recently was a huge step forward for them after a poor run of form. The spell in question saw them earn a point against Newcastle and Brighton, but they were also handed defeats by West Ham, Manchester United and Bournemouth.
Match PredictionChelsea and Everton both have things to fight for - and they both have a whole lot of work to do. We expect there to be a lot of excitement in the air alongside a passionate crowd on both ends, and with that in mind, the prediction we’re going to put forward is over 2.5 goals scored.
