We are edging closer and closer to the end of the Premier League season and things are really starting to heat up at both ends of the table. There are so many things still up in the air and between now and the end of May, we expect to see a whole lot of surprises. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a really intriguing encounter between Liverpool and Crystal Palace.
Liverpool Form GuideLiverpool are coming off the back of a big League Cup win and while they should be allowed to take time to celebrate that, they’ll also want to keep their eyes on the future. With this being Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge, they need to do everything in their power to help send him out on top - and if they play their cards right, that could mean winning the treble.
After losing 4-3 to Manchester United in the cup, Liverpool defeated Brighton and Sheffield United before a 2-2 draw with United in the league. Then, during the week, they endured one of their worst performances in recent history as they were beaten 3-0 by Atalanta.
Crystal Palace Form GuideA change in management can often inspire a turnaround on the pitch and while Roy Hodgson’s presence wasn’t the only ongoing issue at the club, his exit will certainly give fans cause for hope and optimism. Now, with Oliver Glasner at the helm, there could be an exciting new direction for this famous club - and hopefully for them, far less of a worry regarding the threat of relegation.
Since beating Burnley 3-0, Palace haven’t been able to buy a win. They lost 3-1 to Tottenham, then drew 1-1 with Luton and Nottingham Forest. From there, they were edged out 1-0 by Bournemouth, before losing 4-2 at home to Manchester City.
Match PredictionPalace have served as a bogey team for the Reds in the past but when the stakes are this high, it feels like that kind of logic goes flying out of the window. We expect to see the hosts at their very best in this one, which is one of the many reasons why we’re predicting a Liverpool win.
